She is the Regional Director of the United Nation’s Environment Programme (UNEP). She is a Carl Duisburg Research Fellow at the World Conservation Union (IUCN), a Member of the Association of Environmental Law Lecturers in Africa, and a founding member of the Network for African Women Environmentalists.

She is a lecturer at the School of Law at Makerere University under the Department of Law and Jurisprudence. She has served as a judge on a panel for the International Studies Association (ISA) book award and is an editorial board member for the FIDA International Newsletter

She led complex prosecutions, notably the 2010 Kampala Bombings trial—the first successfully prosecuted terrorism case in Africa

Prof. Christopher Mbazira is a Professor of Law and Coordinator of the Public Interest Law Clinic (PILAC) at the same School and a founding member of the Network of Public Interest Lawyers (NETPIL).

Dr. Zahara Nampewo is a lawyer and human rights expert with over 20 years of experience across various sectors. She is a Senior Lecturer at Makerere University’s School of law where she has been since 2006. Currently, she holds the position of Deputy Dean.
